Dear Customer,
There is quite a bit of wisdom that comes from writers
in Latin America. Many North Americans are not very much
aware of the refinement of some of these writers
In a series of following issues I will be presenting
quotes from famous Latin American writers in our
“Thought of the day”
section above.
You may have heard some of them, and perhaps never knew
where they actually came from.
Also, In this issue we will present the third of a
series of basic translation pitfalls. We hope that you
will find this information useful for your future
projects.
This week we are running a special on translations from
English to Spanish at only
US$0.08
per source word!
Any
document received between October 21, 2004 and October
30, 2004 will receive this special price. This is your
time to take out that old document, or manual, or book
that you thought would be too expensive to translate?
Bring it out now and send it to me!
For those interested in obtaining a wonderful guideline
for hiring translations, “Translations – Getting it
Right” written in the UK, please send me a message to
jaime@mincor.net and I will happily send it to you
as an atachment.

Tip 4 – Fedex and Forget |
Don’t be a stranger during the translation production
process. Make your engineers, manuals, charts, and visuals
as well as your tech writers available to the translators,
editors, desktop publishers, and project managers. Encourage
site visits. The more seamless this relationship is, the
cleaner and more professional the final result.
Sincerely,
Jaime
